The content of this website is provided by BRILL for personal use only and copyright remains in BRILL. Some information and documents have been provided by and with the permission of “British in Europe” and “the 3 million” and copyright remains in their respective owners.
Your data
Data concerning access to the BRILL website and newsletters (clicked links per user, who openned the newsletters, user IP address / geolocation / browser version / platform) is used for analytical and statistical purposes. You authorise BRILL and it’s Internet hosting partner to store, host, maintain, use, display, reproduce and distribute your data solely for the purpose of management, administration, analytical and statistical purposes and making various documents and information available to you.
Accounts, passwords and security of account information
You shall maintain the confidentiality of your login details and shall be solely responsible for all activities that occur through the use of the login.
In the event of unauthorised use or loss of your password you can request a new password to be sent to the e-mail address stored in the membership database.
Your login is subject to cancellation or suspension by BRILL or it’s Internet hosting partner at any time if they have reasonable belief that the login information is being misused, used by an unauthorised user, or if you have materially breached this agreement.
Protection of Personal Data
The personal data that you enter when creating an account on the website are collected for the following purposes:
- managing the security of the connection to the website, including authentication of your login name, password and cookie associated to your device.
- website generic statistical usage.
- contacting you with newsletters and other information as deemed necessary.
Retention of the personal data
Personal data will be permanently deleted from all sorage media three months after you have un-subscribed from a newsletter and one year after your last login to the website.

Force Majeure
It is expressly provided that BRILL or it’s Internet hosting partner shall not be liable for damages caused to you or for delays or breaches in the execution of the present agreement if these damages, delays, or breaches result from cases of force majeure or events outside the reasonable control of BRILL or it’s Internet hosting partner.
Such cases and events shall include, but not be limited to, the following cases and events: strikes, labour conflicts, social unrest, war, riots, insurrection, bombings, sabotage, fires, floods, natural catastrophes, or breakdowns, neglect, or delays in electrical, transport or communication resources or grids, or IT networks.

Your login will be permanently deleted 3 months after you have ceased to be a member of the association.
Applicable Law - Jurisdiction
The present Agreement is subject to the laws of Luxembourg.
In case of disputes, the parties shall do their utmost to come to an amicable agreement.
In the absence of an amicable agreement between the parties, any disputes concerning the validity, interpretation, execution, and/or expiration of the present Agreement shall be decided by the sole jurisdiction of the Courts of Luxembourg.
Modifications
BRILL may change the present Terms and Conditions Agreement at any time and without prior notice.
Severability
If any provision of this Agreement shall be held by a court of competent jurisdiction to be illegal, invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
Miscellaneous provisions
The fact that one of the parties chooses, on one or more occasions, not to act on one or more of the provisions hereof cannot under any circumstances be construed as a waiver by the relevant Party of the entitlement to act thereupon subsequently.
